Wichita-made dog beds coming soon to a store near you
The founders of a dog-bed-making company and a small company advisory firm made presentations Wednesday at Wichita’s 1 Million Cups.
1 Million Cups ICT is a weekly gathering designed to aid entrepreneurs by making contacts in the community and gaining awareness. It meets Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Next week’s event will be at Wichita State University’s Old Town offices, 238 N. Mead.
PupIQ
Co-founders: Trevor Crotts and Jordan Tibbetts
Pitch: They already produce a line of high-end dog beds to ease the pain of older dogs, called BuddyRest. They are introducing PupIQ, a less expensive but still high-quality and high-tech line of dog products for retailers.
Status: Founded in 2011, the new products will soon be reaching stores.

Owner: John Meetz
Pitch: Meetz, who has spent a lifetime in business, owns a franchise that sets up advisory boards for small-business owners. He takes a small fee for organizing the service.
Status: He has three boards up and operating and is close to starting two more.
