El Dorado Sonic plans renovations

The Sonic Drive-In at 1945 W. Central in El Dorado will close temporarily at 8 p.m. Sunday for a three-month remodel, according to a news release.

The renovated building will include a new drive-through, ordering technology, equipment and kitchen design, according to the release.

The Sonic has a tentative date of Feb. 1 for reopening.

Some of the current employees and managers will work at different Sonic locations during the renovation. After the reopening, the business plans to hire 35 to 50 employees, according to the release.

General managers are Jerry and Vicki Bruce, who have been at the location more than 20 years. General contractor for the project is Danny Slusser of Danco in Wichita.
