Software platform company opens office in Wichita, seeks to hire

Social Networking Technology, which has developed Web platform www.passfail.com for financial information, has opened an office in Wichita.

The company, based in Sausalito, Calif., is seeking 10 local software engineers and programmers to work on its platform, said president David McNamee.

He said he chose to open the development office in Wichita because he has used contractors from the area.

“I think we can find a good supply of software engineers and developers here, at a good economic price,” he said.

The 4-year-old company has 30 to 35 employees and contractors, most in Sausalito and Hermosa Beach, Calif. McNamee can be reached at david@passfail.com.

McNamee had been a business consultant for Bethesda Financial Group, spending his time matching investors with entrepreneurs. He started with Social Networking Technology in 2011.

Passfail.com is a platform providing data and information, allowing amateur investors to follow financial markets, such as top performing stocks or most active stocks, along with company profiles, filings and news. The website shows that the company also expects to move into the fields of sports and real estate.

The company will be moving this week into a 1,300-square-foot Wichita office on the 10th floor of the High Touch building downtown.

McNamee said that Jeff Fluhr of Wichita Downtown Development Corp. was instrumental in helping Social Networking Technology find the space.
