Textron Aviation made a $150,000 donation to the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus to modernize its aviation program, including increasing the square footage of the Certified Flight Instructor, or CFI, Lab, creating more workspace for flight instructors and a better learning environment for students enrolled in the program.

A $50,000 grant from Credit Union of America to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Via Christi Health paid for the creation of original Kansas-themed murals that provide visual distraction in a special kids’ area of the Via Christi Hospital St. Teresa ER waiting room and as well as in the hospital’s two dedicated pediatric exam rooms.

Spirit AeroSystems is partnering with the American Red Cross’ Home Fire Campaign to put 1,000 smoke alarms in homes across Kansas.
