Hutchinson hospital to change its name — again
WICHITA — The hospital in Hutchinson is getting rid of its Promise Regional Medical Center name.
The hospital said its board of directors voted to change the name to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
"After careful consideration of many factors related to a decision of this kind, the board believed it was in the best interest of our community health system to recognize Hutchinson in the name," said Bruce Buchanan, chairman of the board, in a press release.
The hospital said in the release that the costs of changing the name will be paid for through private donations to the hospital's foundation.
In 2008, then-Hutchinson Hospital changed its name to Promise.
