Poehling to leave state municipal energy agency

Bob Poehling, the general manager of the Kansas Municipal Energy Agency, is leaving to take a position in Lincoln, Neb.

The KMEA, which is based in Overland Park, is a quasi-municipal corporation that includes 77 municipalities. The agency acts to coordinate, develop and manage electric supplies for its member cities.

Poehling has been KMEA general manager about four years. He is leaving to become CEO of NMMP Energy in Lincoln, effective April 6, according to a news release from the KMEA.

The agency plans to conduct a nationwide search in coming months to fill the post.
