Advertising Federation will honor Higdon

Al Higdon will be honored Feb. 9 by the American Advertising Federation of Wichita. Higdon will receive a Silver Medal Award for success as an advertising agency leader, his work to increase the stature and raise the standards of the advertising profession and his other contributions to Wichita.

The Silver Medal Award was established in 1959 by the American Advertising Federation to recognize people who have made outstanding contributions to advertising.

Higdon partnered with Wendall Sullivan almost 40 years ago to create a new advertising agency. It became Sullivan Higdon & Sink when Vaughn Sink joined the firm in 1972. SHS is now the largest advertising agency in Wichita.
