Lawn care done differently presented at 1 Million Cups
The founder of a company that uberized lawn mowing and a life coach who wants to help groups presented Wednesday at Wichita’s 1 Million Cups.
1 Million Cups ICT is a weekly gathering designed to aid entrepreneurs by making contacts in the community and gaining awareness. It meets Wednesdays from 9 to 10 a.m. Next week’s event will be at Wichita State University’s Old Town offices, 238 N. Mead.
Lawn Buddy
Founder: Steven Werner
Pitch: Werner has applied the Uber model to lawn care, so people can use the Lawn Buddy app to select contract “lawntrepreneurs” to mow their grass. The company uses technology to give an estimate based on the size of the yard, so the price is fixed in advance. Services also include leaf, snow and ice removal.
Status: He expects to launch the app by mid-November.

FieldTrip Wichita
Founder: Jenny Wiley
Pitch: Wiley is a life coach who is branching out to create a service for groups, particularly people in businesses. She will offer a variety of sessions in a variety of formats that encourage relaxation, focus and authenticity.
Status: She is launching the service at the end of September.
