Farmers deep into fall crop harvest

The end of the season is coming into sight for south central Kansas crop farmers.

They have harvested about 90 percent of their corn, 50 percent of the grain sorghum and 40 percent of the soybeans as of the weekend, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Area farmers are also more than 80 percent finished with planting winter wheat.
