Officer, suspect reportedly injured in shooting in Cowley County

Authorities were investigating an officer-involved shooting in Cowley County late Saturday night after a suspect was reportedly shot and critically injured.

Police officers responded to a call around 8 p.m. Saturday south of Dexter, and there was a report of shots fired, according to a Cowley County news agency.

The officer sustained injuries, though those injuries were not life-threatening, according to the site.

Police shut down a portion of U.S. 166 west of K-15 to investigate Saturday night.

Authorities had no further information as of 10:30 p.m. Saturday and said more details would be provided Sunday.
