Bob Dole plans third trip to Kansas this year

Bob Dole, former U.S. senator, plans to visit Kansas again, this time in the northwest quadrant of the state, his Washington, D.C., office said Tuesday.

Now 90, the former GOP presidential candidate has made two previous trips to his home state this year, including one to Wichita earlier this month.

“I’m looking forward to returning to Kansas for the third time this spring,” Dole said in a statement. “I hope to see friends and former supporters of mine, and I am looking forward to enjoying some brownies along the way.”

His Washington office said his schedule this time includes the following times and locations, all events open to the public and free (all times Central unless otherwise indicated):

May 28

Goodland – On the Bricks, 1530 Main St.; 10-11 a.m.

Sharon Springs – venue to be announced; noon-1 p.m.

Oakley – Buffalo Bill Cultural Center, 3083 U.S. 83; 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Colby – Colby Community College Student Union, 1255 S. Range; 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Hoxie – Hoxie Courthouse, 925 Ninth St.; 5:15-6:15 p.m.

Quinter – Quinter Public Library, 411 Main St.; 7-8 p.m.

May 29

WaKeeney – Western Cooperative Electric, 635 S. 13th St.; 10-11 a.m.

Hill City – Graham County Community Center, 700 W. Main St.; 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m.

Norton – American Legion, 1120 N. Norton Ave.; 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Oberlin – Golden Age Center, 105 W. Maple St.; 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Atwood – Knights of Columbus Hall, Lake Road; 7:30-8:30 p.m.

May 30

St. Francis – St. Francis Public Library, 121 S. Scott St.; 11 a.m.-noon
