Rain fell Monday, but only for a moment and only in a few select places.

“It depends on where you were,” said Kevin Darmofal, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Wichita.

Officially the rainfall amount was a trace to maybe a tenth of an inch in the south and east parts of Wichita, Darmofal said.

Here. Then gone.

The next chance of rain comes Wednesday night, when storms could possibly be strong and severe. The forecast for much of this week calls for temperatures in the high 70s.

The forecast for the first of next week calls for highs in 50s, following another chance of rain over the weekend.

“We are still not out of the woods as far as frosts and freezes go,” Darmofal said. “Another week or two and we have less need to worry.”
