Police issue 50 tickets during seat-belt patrol

Fifty tickets were issued by Wichita police for a variety of offenses during an effort to target violators of seat-belt laws on West Kellogg.

During the patrol was conducted from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Dugan and Kellogg, 29 tickets were given for seat-belt violations, Lt. Dan East said.

One ticket was issued for DUI, one for possession of marijuana and another for an outstanding warrant, he said. Other tickets were written for such things as defective equipment.
