Wichita State’s new residence hall to be called ‘Shocker Hall’
It will be called Shocker Hall.
Wichita State University officials have given that name to the new residence hall rising now on the campus, WSU said in a written statement Monday. The building will open on Aug. 6, 2014, in time for next year's fall semester, the statement said.
The new hall, located between Cessna Stadium and Morrison Hall, will hold 782 beds. A new 400-seat dining hall will be attached to the hall, the statement said.
Most first-year students and some returning students will live there, the statement said. Several room configurations will be available, including singles, standard doubles, double rooms with two singles and quad rooms with four single rooms. Some will have small living room areas, the statement said.
Each floor will have a laundry room, community kitchen and lounge area.
