Wichita State to break ground on new residence hall on Tuesday

Correction: An earlier version of this story had an incorrect number of parking spaces between Morrison Hall and Cessna Stadium.

Wichita State University plans to break ground for its new residence hall Tuesday afternoon, the university said in a statement.

University officials will hold the ceremony at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the parking lot north of Morrison Hall. A reception will follow on the front lawn of Morrison Hall, WSU officials said.

Construction workers Monday were working on the construction fence around what used to be about 750 parking spaces between Morrison and Cessna Stadium. And other construction workers, including heavy equipment operators, were working on the plot of land near Corbin Hall, at the north end of the campus, turning what had been an intramural playing field into a parking lot, which will add about 400 spaces for the campus.
