Charges filed in McDonald’s drive-through shooting
The man and woman suspected of firing a shotgun at an occupied car at a west Wichita McDonald’s drive-through on Wednesday were each charged Friday with five felonies in Sedgwick County District Court.
Sean Costa, 24, and Melissa Palacios, 27, were ordered to return to court on Jan. 24 for a preliminary hearing on four counts of aggravated assault and one count of criminal possession of a firearm.
Wichita police said the suspects threw a tire iron at a car carrying two victims and then fired a shot from a shotgun that struck the car door. Prosecutors said both suspects had felony convictions.
