A warrant has been issued for the arrest of man who was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident last year while fleeing from law enforcement officers in west Wichita.
The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said today that Joshua Wynn, 22, is charged with felony murder in the Sept. 1 accident, which resulted in the death of 19-year-old Mallory Scofield.
Wynn, whose last known address was in Park City, also is charged with driving on a suspended license and operating a motorcycle without a Class M license.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said the chase began when a sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a motorcycle driven by Wynn at Meridian and 27th Street South. Although Winn eluded officers, investigators said, the motorcycle was later found near Maple and 135th Street West after it had crashed.
