Williams didn’t believe friend’s rape claim leading up to shooting
WICHITA Kiara Williams took the stand in her own defense this afternoon to tell a jury her version of how Otis Bolden died.
That part will have to wait until Monday morning, when her trial for first-degree felony murder continues.
Williams, 21, took the stand late in the afternoon after prosecutor rested their case. Most of Williams’ testimony today challenged what her friend Jalessa Bonner told the jury Thursday. That included Williams saying she didn’t believe Bonner’s claim that she had been raped: a contention that preceded Bolden’s shooting in April 2010.
