Scrotum-hypodermic-needle case closed without charges, Wichita police say

WICHITA—Police have closed a case involving a 39-year-old man who said someone stabbed him in the scrotum with a hypodermic needle, a spokesman said Tuesday.

The man reported the incident to police Oct. 7.

After The Eagle first reported about it, the case drew national attention. "Saturday Night Live" included it in its Weekend Update segment last week.

Lt. Doug Nolte of the Wichita Police Department said the "victim does not want to pursue anything against anyone."

A police report said the needle broke off in the man's scrotum. He underwent surgery to remove it.
