Kansas City’s recycling center at 4707 Deramus Ave. will be closed from May 16 through May 31 for improvements.
The city received a $49,679 grant from the Mid-America Regional Council to update the recycling center. The renovations will include relocation of the site’s main office; stripping and resurfacing of the parking lot; and repairs and replacement of existing fencing.
While the Deramus recycling center is closed, residents are encouraged to recycle at Kansas City’s other two recycling centers, at the Metro North Mall, 400 N.W. Barry Road; or at the former Walmart Supercenter parking lot, 9051 Hillcrest Road.
