Overland Park Regional Medical Center is planning a $121 million expansion that will add 215,291-square-feet to its complex at 10500 Quivera Rd.
Construction is expected to begin late this year and will include a 72-bed, private patient tower. The expansion also is expected to create 130 new jobs at the medical center. J.E. Dunn Construction Co. will be the general contractor.
“This is an unprecedented investmentand will allow us to further advance services and facilities we provide our community and the surrounding areas we serve,” Gay Nord, CEO of the medical center, said in a statement today.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is operated by HCA Midwest Heath System. HCA estimates its spent $650 million expanding and improving patient services at the medical center since 2003.
The hospital emergency department and inpatient services will remain fully functional and will operate at full capacity throughout construction.
