Man charged in Sunday's homicide in south Wichita

WICHITA — Bond has been set at $250,000 for a 55-year-old man charged in the Sunday killing of a 44-year-old man in south Wichita.

Loren E. Hall Jr. has been charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Leonard Hecox. His preliminary hearing has been set for April 7 in Sedgwick County District Court.

Hecox was found dead in the front yard of his house at 2539 S. Bennett shortly before noon on Sunday. He had been stabbed to death.

Hall was arrested Monday night after police talked to more than 20 people piecing together the chain of events that preceded Hecox's death.
