Wichita artist Wade Hampton to appear on 'The Colbert Report'

WICHITA — Local artist Wade Hampton says he is slated to be featured on "The Colbert Report" early next week.

Hampton said he had been scheduled to be interviewed tonight via Skype by host Stephen Colbert, who also plans to display a piece of Hampton's art on the program.

But the interview has been rescheduled to next week, possibly as early as Monday, Hampton said on his Facebook page.

"He said this has been a very busy news week," Hampton said of Colbert. "But, he said 'The jokes are written, so it's happening.' "

"The Colbert Report" airs at 10:30 p.m. on Comedy Central, following "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart."
