Woman, daughter-in-law arrested on suspicion of prostitution

Acting on a tip, Reno County Sheriff’s detectives conducted an undercover sting Feb. 9 - and arrested a woman and her daughter-in-law on suspicion of prostitution.

The two women, ages 40 and 27, were arrested at a Hutchinson hotel cooperating with the sting, Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson said.

Authorities delayed announcing the arrest because they were looking into the possibility that the two women were working as part of a prostitution ring, Henderson said.

The tip came in through Reno County’s Crime Stoppers unit, he said.
