The Big 12 got plenty of love from one of the first major preview college football magazines to hit the newsstands.
Sporting News has three Big 12 teams in its top 10 -- Texas at No. 2, Oklahoma at No. 3 and Oklahoma State is 10th.
Texas Tech is No. 20 and Kansas No. 25.
Eight players are listed on the preseason All-America team, including three from Oklahoma State: Running back Kendall Hunter, wide receiver Dez Bryant and return specialist Perrish Cox.
Also from the Big 12: defensive lineman Gerald McCoy from Oklahoma and Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh, Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle and Oklahoma tight end Jermaine Gresham.
Missouri linebacker Sean Weatherspoon is on the third team.
Florida’s Tim Tebow is the first-team quarterback with last year’s Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford from Oklahoma on the second team and Texas’ Colt McCoy on the third team.
