In Missouri, Biden says U.S. military is the greatest ever

WHITEMAN AIR FORCE BASE, Mo. | Vice President Joe Biden says the United States military is not only the premier military in the world today, but in the history of the world.

With a giant B2 Bomber as his backdrop and surrounded by a sea of camouflage-clad troops at Whiteman Air Force Base, Biden said Thursday that the country owes them a big debt of gratitude — not only to those serving now, but to those who came before them.

Biden said veterans have often been forgotten in the past 15 years, and that the Obama administration is increasing funding for veterans by $25 billion.

Biden spoke to a crowd of military members from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. He's now headed to Jefferson City to speak at a plant that builds transformers for wind power plants.
