Butler County dog washes to raise money for response team

The Butler County Animal Response Team, or BuCART, will hold two dog washes in August, its final fundraising washes of the year.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, the team will have its new disaster trailer at the Rose Hill Fire Department, 911 N. Rose Hill Road in Rose Hill. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., dogs can be bathed and towel-dried for a suggested donation of $10 per dog. Money raised will go to equip the trailer.

On Aug. 27, the team will be at El Dorado Fire Station Two, 2600 W. Sixth St. in El Dorado. Firefighters and BuCART members will bathe and towel-dry dogs for $10 per dog from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The disaster response trailer will be on site for the public to view. Money raised will be used for disaster response and supplies.

At both events, Alex’s House Dog Rescue will be microchipping pets for $20 per animal, with money raised going to the Rosalia-based rescue.

Bunny TNT turns 10

Bunny TNT will hold a 10th birthday celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. Aug. 21 at Exploration Place, 300 N. McLean Blvd. The event, in the hall north of the ticket counter, is free and open to the public.

Activities will include a scavenger hunt, crafts and a magic show at 3 p.m. by Shawn Reida and his bunny Rufus. There will be birthday cupcakes and rabbits to pet and adopt.

Summer dog wash continues in Bel Aire

From 1 to 4 p.m. at Heartland Animal Hospital, 4100 N. Woodlawn in Bel Aire, dogs of any size can get a bath for $5. Money raised goes to spay and neuter pets of people who can’t afford the surgeries.

The service will be available, weather permitting, every Saturday through Sept. 3. For more information, call 316-682-2249.
