Talk at Skaer Veterinary Clinic to focus on senior pet care
The special needs of senior pets will be the topic of a free discussion Saturday at Skaer Veterinary Clinic.
Veterinarian Janet Arnet will lead the session on senior wellness care, which will cover such topics as:
▪ At what age does a pet become a senior?
▪ What are the signs of pain?
▪ What health problems can affect older pets?
▪ What are the common signs of disease in older pets?
▪ What do I need to do to keep my senior pet healthy?

Household pets wanted for Wichita Cat Fancy Show
Cats need not be purebreds to compete in the Wichita Cat Fancy winter show Feb. 7 and 8 at the Cotillion.
People are urged to enter their nonregistered cats in the show’s household pet division, a category that celebrates the beauty of the everyday cat.
Cats must be at least 4 months old, spayed or neutered if older than 8 months, current on all vaccinations, of good temperament and not declawed.
The entry fee is $30 per cat, and the deadline for entries is Monday.
