Adopt a pet (June 18, 2016)
Junah, a 7-year-old female Australian cattle dog mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.
My name’s Junah and I’m looking for someone as sweet as I am to get me out of this noisy shelter. My owners brought me in because they didn’t have time for me anymore. I was pretty scared at first, but the staff here was really nice and showed me that it’s all gonna be OK. I just know someone as sweet as I am will come along and give me a second chance at a happily ever after. Don’t be discouraged if I’m a little shy at first; just give me one good scratch on my backside and I’ll be your best friend forever.
Also available:
▪ Gregor, 2-year-old male American pit bull mix
The name is Gregor and I run the show around here at KHS. The shelter staff call me the “life of the party” because I’m so outgoing. I never met anyone I didn’t like. Sometimes I can be a little overenthusiastic and jump up to give hugs. But how else can I show you how very excited I am to meet ya? I’d love to find someone as energetic as I am to play with. We could play fetch and tug-o-war. So come by the Kansas Humane Society today. Our adventure together could start as soon as you visit.
▪ Tonks, 1-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
I’m Tonks. Much like the character I’m named after, I can blend in great into any home. I’ve lived with other cats and dogs before, and we got along just fine. I’m sure we’ll get along just swell, too. Just give me a little time to get comfortable, and then I’ll shower you with purrs, head-butts and plenty of lap time.
▪ Sugar, 6-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
What’s a sure way to make anything sweeter? Add Sugar, of course. That’s my name, and I think it fits me purr-fectly because I’m so sweet. Now I just need someone equally sweet to curl up with. I’ve been waiting for the perfect home for a while now. The staff here at the shelter tell me there’s someone special out there for me, and I’m determined to find them. So come to KHS today and allow me to introduce you to the sweetest cat in town … me.
▪ Clint (and the Rat Pack), male rat
Hey toots, the name is Clint. Me and my boys here are lookin’ for a new crib. The rat pack is tired of New York. The town isn’t the same since that “Pizza Rat” moved in. I mean who ever heard of a rat finishing off a deep-dish anyway? We much prefer our seeds and pellets. Could we move in with you? We promise not to steal your pizza.
