Keeley, a female border collie-terrier mix about 3 years old, is available for adoption from Pals Animal Rescue. She is a very smart and loyal dog. At around 25 pounds, she is just the right size. Her favorite pastimes are playing fetch, walking in the park and taking road trips in the car. She is house-trained and eager to please.

Also available from Pals:

▪ Lexi is a Chihuahua and Jack Russell terrier mix, about 2 years old and 12 pounds. She is an alert and active little dog who has the “take charge” attitude of the Jack Russell. She loves for someone to throw or bounce a squeaky ball for her. Although Lexi has plenty of energy, she’s also a snuggle bug and loves to cuddle up close at night to sleep on the bed. Lexi is housebroken and kennel-trained. She is very smart and has learned hand commands for “sit,” “down” and “stay.”

Meet Keeley, Lexi and other Pals dogs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at PetSmart east, 3615 N. Rock Road in Wichita.

▪ Toffee is a calico cat about 2 years old. She is a wonderful girl who gets along great with other cats and with dogs. Litter-box-trained and an indoor-only cat, she will be your best buddy as she loves to cuddle and be petted.

See Pals cats from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at PetSmart West, 533 S. Tracy.

Al, a 4-year-old male American bulldog mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

Hey there. I may look tough, but I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. I’m really just a big softy. I love to cuddle up with someone special and plant a big puppy kiss on ’em. I’ve got a big heart to go with this big body so I’m looking with someone with just as much love to give. Maybe it could be you? We could play with toys together, take long walks, play fetch outside, and at the end of the day curl up on the couch and watch movies. Hurry, you grab your keys and I’ll grab the leash. See you soon.

Also available from KHS:

▪ Wednesday, 8-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

Whoever said black cats are bad luck has obviously never met me. I’m the most helpful feline here at the shelter. In fact they call me a “personal assistant” because I’m always willing to lend a paw to my favorite humans. I love to be doing what you’re doing. I’ll help you press the computer keys, hold down pages in a book, or keep your lap warm during your favorite TV show. You’ll wonder how you ever managed without me.

▪ Big Mac, 3-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

I like to think I’m running the show down here at KHS. My cat friends and I are having a great time, but I would really love to go home soon. I’ve got a fun and confident personality, and I do everything in a big way. I like to be noticed, and when you’re as cute and spunky as me, there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m adventurous, but have no fear: I’ll always make plenty of time for affection and purrs for you.

▪ Isabo, 1-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

I am a sweet lady that really wants attention, but I’ll be sure to tell you when I’ve had enough. My foster parent suggests that I live in a home with no small children, since I have been pretty skittish. Car rides make me a little nervous, and I make sure to tell you all about it (a hard carrier would be best since I did bust out of a cardboard carrier in the car). I have a minor interest in toys, but I don’t really have particular favorites. I did not socialize with any animals in my foster home. Mostly, I just want someone who will give me all the attention that I desire and then give me my space to do whatever. Could you be that special someone?

▪ Clint (and the Rat Pack), male rat

Hey toots, the name is Clint. Me and my boys here are lookin’ for a new crib. The rat pack is tired of Ol’ New York. The town isn’t the same since that “Pizza Rat” moved in. I mean who ever heard of a rat finishing off a deep-dish anyway? We much prefer our seeds and pellets. Could we move in with you? We promise not to steal your pizza.
