Dog wash to benefit Butler County Animal Response Team
The Butler County Animal Response Team will hold a fundraising dog wash June 4 in El Dorado. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station Two, 2600 W. Sixth, dogs can be bathed and towel-dried for $10. Money raised will be used to purchase supplies for the group’s new response team trailer. Alex’s House Dog Rescue will also offer microchipping for $20 per dog.
The Butler County Animal Response Team was formed to help ensure the safety, survival and welfare of animals affected by natural and man-made disasters in the area. For more information, go to bucoks.com/index.aspx?NID=651.
Take Spot out to the ball game
Dogs are invited to Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on June 5 as the Cowley County Humane Society presents Bark in the Park.
The event, which starts at 1:05 p.m., features the Wichita Wingnuts playing the Gary Southshore Railcats. Visitors can stop by the Cowley County Humane Society’s booth, meet adoptable animals and enter their dogs in contests.
Tickets are $10 and can be obtained through the shelter’s website, www.cowleycountyhumanesociety.org; at the shelter, 7648 222nd Road in Winfield; and at the shelter’s adoption events from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Petco at 1912 N.
