Adopt a pet (March 19, 2016)

Diana
Diana Kansas Humane Society

Jackson, a 9-year-old male Chinese shar-pei and pit bull terrier mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

Still searching for that perfect man? Stop by the shelter and meet me. The staff here say I’m a perfect gentleman. You see, I’m not a young pup anymore. At my age, I’ve learned to appreciate the finer things in life, like having someone to cuddle up with at the end of the day. Plus I’ve mastered all the tricks to being a perfect canine companion like going outside to go potty. I can be a little shy at first, but I’ve got lots of love to give. Just be patient with me and in no time I’ll be showering you with kisses.

Also available from KHS:

▪ Diana, 1-year-old female Labrador retriever-pit bull terrier mix

Have you ever seen a sweeter face than mine? I think not. I’m as cute as they come. Plus, I just love to play. Now I just need a best friend to play with. I’ve been searching for quite a while now, but I’m not giving up hope. I give everyone I meet a big smile and wag my tail so they know I’m a nice doggie. Sometimes I even show off a few tricks to make people smile. That’s what I’m all about, entertaining people. If you give me a chance, I promise to fill your home with love and laughter.

▪ Nora, 2-year-old female German Shorthaired pointer-Labrador retriever mix

No dog bones about it, my middle name is Go. I am a bona fide go-getter. Want to go to the park? Let’s Go. Play Frisbee? Let’s Go. Want to have fun times with love forever? Let’s Go. Want to teach me tricks and the rules? Let’s Go. I am ready to Go and be your very best friend. So hurry to KHS and visit with me.

▪ Meowington, 2-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

The people here taking care of me think I’m wonderful. They’re right. I’ll be an awesome companion for you. I’ve been wanting a best friend for a long time, and now it’s my chance to have one. I can’t wait. I will definitely make your house a home with my sweet and loving personality. Oh, and we can play, too.

▪ Butterbean, 6-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

I’m a sweet kitty looking for a nice home where people will love me. I’m what the shelter staff call a “private investigator,” so I may take a moment to warm up, but once we become friends, I’ll never leave your side. I promise that I won’t be any trouble. I’m just looking for love, affection, a warm place in the winter, and a cool place in the summer. Could it be your place? Come visit me, so we can discuss things further.

Cricket, a delightful little shih tzu mix, is available from Pals Animal Rescue. She should be voted Ms. Personality, as she loves to meet people. She also likes other dogs, but prefers a human lap to snooze on or, most of all, have her belly rubbed. She will be shown along with other Pals dogs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart at 3615 N. Rock Road.

Also available from Pals:

▪ Jackson, a male terrier mix, is ready and waiting for his new home. He has come a long way from the young dog found covered in grease from the tractor he was hiding under. No longer afraid, he just knows he will one day have a home of his own. He is a Jack Russell mix who is much calmer than most of his breed. He will be shown along with other Pals dogs Saturday at PetSmart at 3615 N. Rock Road.

▪ Whitney is an unusual cat with the most wonderful personality. She is a bit shy, but super loving when she gets used to you. If you like cuddly and sweet, she is the cat for you. Whitney and many other Pals cats will be shown from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at PetSmart, 3615 N. Rock Road.
