Two local animal welfare groups will host a special screening of “The Champions,” the story of fighting dogs rescued from the property of football player Michael Vick, at 7 p.m. March 2 at the east Warren Theatres.
Friends of Felines KS and Beauties and Beasts Inc., in connection with Utah-based Best Friends Animal Society, are sponsoring the documentary, which follows the organizations and individuals that saved the pit bulls despite pressure from national humane groups to euthanize them, from their rescue in 2007 through their recovery, a news release said.
Tickets are $12.50 and can be purchased at https://tugg.com/events/92090 up to four hours before the screening. Tickets will not be available at the door.
