Adopt a pet (Feb. 13, 2016)
Chloe, a 2-year-old Chihuahua mix, is available for adoption from Kansas K-9 ResQ. An exceptionally sweet little girl, she loves to play chase with other dogs and is so fast that few dogs can catch her. After playing, she loves to snuggle and melts in your lap. Chloe is house- and crate-trained. She loves other dogs but will chase cats. She is looking for a home with another active dog to play with. She loves children, but because of her small size, she will not be adopted to a home with very small children.
Also available from Kansas K-9 ResQ:
▪ Dwight is a 6 1/2-year-old Boston terrier. He is a typical Boston — happy and playful — but will try to act like a bully to get his way. He will require an owner who has experience with Bostons or other bully breeds. Dwight does know how to be a good boy; he enjoys a good cuddle after playtime and will snuggle up in the evenings with his people. He loves playing with toys, rolling in the grass and riding in the car. He also loves water and actually jumped into the tub for his bath. He sleeps quietly in the kennel at night. Dwight is not good with small children, as he wants to dominate them. He likes other dogs, especially the ones who play with him. He would like to chase cats so would not be liked by the kitties. Dwight learns quickly. He is housebroken and crate-trained, and knows to go to the kennel when offered a treat before bed.
▪ Gabby is a darling little 5-year-old Chihuahua mix. She has an unusual brindle coloring that gets her noticed. She is a sweet girl who likes to play with other dogs but sometimes likes to tease the cats in the family. Gabby would love her own person for cuddling.
▪ Toby is a sweet senior boy (9 1/2 years) who found himself homeless when his beloved owner died. He is an experienced dog who knows how to be the perfect loving companion. Toby is looking for a home to spend his retirement in and a person to share it with. As he is concerned about being left again, he would do best in a home where his person can be with him most of the day.
Kansas K-9 ResQ dogs will be shown from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at PetSmart, 3615 N. Rock Road. All are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm prevention and microchipped.
