Pollywog, a 1-year-old male pit bull mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

I’m at the Kansas Humane Society, dreaming of a new best friend to love me. I’m a member of the Lonely Hearts Club, which means I’ve been waiting for someone to give me a chance for a long time now. But I’m not giving up hope. I’ve got my paws crossed and I just know that someday a wonderful family will come and see what a truly special dog I am. I’d love to have someone to run with. Then maybe afterward we can curl up by the fireplace together. Doesn’t that sound perfect? Our happy ending starts with a trip to the Kansas Humane Society, so come see me today.

Also available:

▪ Obi Wan Kenobi, 8-year-old male pointer mix

Well, hey there. How do you do? I seem to have gotten myself lost on the streets of Wichita and I couldn’t find my way home. At my age, you get to be a tad forgetful, but I’ll tell you what, you never forget how to love. And that’s what I’m all about. I’d love to have someone as sweet as I am to curl up with under a nice blanket. If you give me a chance at a new life, I just know I could be the best friend you’ve ever had. So let’s start our life together today. Stop by the Kansas Humane Society and ask for Obi Wan Kenobi.

▪ Bunny, 1 1/2-year-old female pit bull mix

As my name implies, I’m a bouncy girl. The staff here at the shelter call me a “goofball,” but I just like to keep everyone smiling. Maybe I can bring a little joy to your family. I promise to always greet you with a warm heart, a big kiss and a wiggly backside when you come home. That’s what best friends are for, right? I’m so excited to meet you. So don’t make me wait, come by the Kansas Humane Society ASAP.

▪ Frenchy, 6-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

Want to start the new year with a new best friend? How about me? I’m the perfect sidekick. I came into the humane society in pretty rough shape. I was skinny and had a broken tooth, but they took me in and I’m feeling much better. All I need now is someone to give me a fur-ever home. So come visit me today. I promise: One look into my pretty blue eyes and you’ll fall in love.

▪ Bubbles, 1-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

This year, my resolution is to find someone to love. I’m searching for that special someone to take me into their arms and give me a home of my own. In return, I’ll stay by your side forever. I’m what the staff here at the shelter call a “personal assistant,” which means I love to be wherever you are. I can help you press keys on your computer, hold down the papers you’re trying to read, and even keep your lap warm and toasty when you’re watching TV. Being helpful is what I do naturally. You’ll start to wonder how you ever managed without me in your life.
