Pet briefs (Nov. 14): food for pet pantry; pet photos; Bunny TNT ‘Hop In’

Pet food, litter sought for pet food pantry

The RETAIN Foundation, a local nonprofit that battles the problem of animal overpopulation, is collecting dog and cat food for the pet food pantry operated by First Metropolitan Community Church in Wichita.

The church at 156 S. Kansas, which also distributes food for people in need, distributes a week’s worth of pet food the third Friday of every month to pet owners whose funds for the month may have run out.

The groups are seeking donations of unopened cat or dog food, dry or canned, and cat litter.

Food and supplies can be delivered to 414 S. Roosevelt. For more information, call 316-682-2249.

Pet photos to benefit animal response team

The Wichita Dog Training Club will be taking pet Christmas photos on Saturday, with part of the proceeds going to the Sedgwick County Animal Response Team.

The photo sessions will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the club, 6201 N. Seneca, on the northwest corner of 61st Street North and Seneca. The cost is $10 for a digital photo – no credit cards, please – with $5 going to benefit the Sedgwick County Animal Response Team, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the survival and welfare of animals during disasters in Sedgwick County and surrounding areas.
