Adopt a pet (Nov. 7)
Piper, a female Yorkie/silky terrier mix, 6 years old, is available for adoption from Pals Animal Rescue. She is a delightful little girl at 11 pounds. She is house- and crate-trained but would like a home where she doesn’t have to be crated. She is good with other dogs and with cats, but needs to be the only female dog in the home. Piper is a good watchdog and loves to chase the squirrels in her backyard. She loves to be with her person. She follows her foster mom everywhere and wants to be on her lap or next to her when watching TV. Piper loves attention and is a wonderful, sweet companion dog, although she’s cautious at first with strangers.
Also available from Pals:
▪ Maddie, a 9-year-old female Irish setter, is one of Pals’ senior dogs. She is a wonderful, sweet lady who is house-trained and gets along well with people and other animals. She likes hanging with her foster dad and communicating with him to let him know what she is thinking. She is looking for someone to spend the rest of her life with.
▪ Mollie, a 1-year-old Chihuahua mix, is one of those little black dogs that many people overlook. She is a lovely little girl who likes playing with other dogs, walking around the block with her foster mom, and cuddling up at night as they watch TV. She has so much to give to that special family or person.
See these and other Pals dogs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the PetSmart at 3615 N. Rock Road. For more information, call 316-990-3647 or visit the Pals Facebook page.
Mako, a 2-year-old female boxer/pit bull mix, is available from Kansas Humane Society.
Looking for a friend to stay by your side forever? Me too! I just know I could be the perfect companion. I’m a fun-loving girl with a sweet disposition. Plus I’m a really good listener – just look at the size of my ears. I’m what the shelter staff here calls a “goofball,” which means my main goal is to keep everyone around me laughing. Let me put a smile on your face. Come visit me at the Kansas Humane Society today.
Also available from KHS:
▪ Stewie, 4-year-old male pit bull mix
I’m an all-around great dog. I’m house-trained, I’ve lived with other dogs and with cats, and I love to meet new people. I guess you could call me a social butterfly. My favorite place to hang out is at the dog park. I love to play fetch and tug-of-war with my other doggie friends, plus there is lots of room to run. After a day at the park, I’d love to cuddle up with someone. Maybe it could be you? My foster parents say I’m a sucker for snuggling. Give the Kansas Humane Society a call to set up your snuggle session today.
▪ Wicked, 7-year-old female cat, domestic longhair
I’m what they call a “private investigator,” and I’ve been searching high and low for that special someone who has as much love to give as I do. I was brought here because my former family said they didn’t have enough time for me. They were too busy to take care of me, I guess, and my once beautiful coat had begun to fall out, leaving my skin scabbed and crusty. That’s when the nice folks here at the Kansas Humane Society stepped in to help me. I try to thank them with lots of purrs and loving head-butts. They fixed me up and now I’m feeling better than ever. All I need is someone to give me a second chance at a good life. Do you have room in your heart for me?
▪ Solo, 10-month-old male cat, domestic shorthair
Do you have a quiet place for me to stay? When I first came to the shelter, all the new sights and smells scared me, so a nice foster family took me to live with them. After a day or so I realized how nice they were and started to come out of my shell. Now I follow them around and meow to tell them “hello” when they come home. I love when they brush me, and play time is fun too. When I’m done playing I like naps up high in a tall cat tree. If you think I would be a purrfect fit for your home, please call the folks at the Kansas Humane Society to set up a visit.
▪ C.C., 1-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
It’s getting colder, and everyone needs someone to cuddle up with, including me. My foster family says snuggling up close with my people is what I do best. I’m a playful girl who is sure to steal your attention, and once I’ve got it, I take full advantage of cuddle time. I love to be with people and quickly make friends with everyone I meet, including young kids. I’d love to meet your family. Just call the Kansas Humane Society to set up a visit today.
