Adopt a pet (Oct. 31)
Tico, a 5-year-old male Chihuahua mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.
I’m a gentle soul who found myself lost on the streets of Wichita. Luckily, a good Samaritan scooped me up and brought me here to the Kansas Humane Society. Now I’m looking for a special woman in my life. If you’re looking for a little “arm candy,” I’m your man. That’s because I prefer to be carried everywhere rather than walking on a leash, and my favorite activity is cuddling. I got a chance to cuddle with a lot of nice folks when the shelter staff chose me to go visit a nursing home with Project Companionship. They were all so nice; they smiled at me and pet my head all day. That’s all I want, someone as sweet as me to curl up with. Come by the humane society today and let me hop up in your lap.
Also available:
▪ Spot, 5-year-old male Cairn terrier mix
Hi, I’m Spot, a happy little fella. I like to run and explore, but my favorite thing to do is to be with my human. Whether you are doing chores or relaxing, I like to be right there with you. I am living with four other dogs in my foster home, and I try to be polite and friendly with them. I just love life. I love a cuddle and a tummy rub. I just need some humans to love me unconditionally, the way I love them. Are you that person? Call 316-524-9196 to learn how to visit me.
▪ Sammi, 3-year-old female Doberman pinscher mix
Hey there, my name is Sammi. Wanna play a game? My former family said they didn’t have time to give me the exercise I needed so now I’m here at the Kansas Humane Society looking for the perfect playmate. The staff here calls me a “goofball.” I make it my personal goal to keep everyone smiling. I’m sure I could put a smile on your face. I quickly make friends with everyone I meet, and have lived with dogs and young children before. I’m also house-trained. I just know I could be the perfect addition to your family. So come by the Kansas Humane Society today and let the fun begin.
▪ Kara, 1-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
Meow! I am on the prowl for a home of my own. I got lost awhile back and the streets were no place for my sweet kittens to grow up, so someone brought us here to the Kansas Humane Society. My little family and I were placed in foster care until my kittens were big enough to go off and find homes of their own. Now I’m looking for a new household to run. You see, I’ve become the “leader of the band” here at the shelter. I’m outgoing and adventurous but I also enjoy cuddle time. We could have so many adventures together, if only you’d come meet me.
▪ Butters, 2-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix
As you can see from my picture, I love to be around people. I don’t have to be the center of attention, though; I’m happy to play the sidekick. I’ll be the purr-fect companion and stick by your side through all of life’s adventures. I came into the shelter as a stray so the folks here don’t know much about my history, but I consider myself an open book. Just give me a little scratch under my chin and I’ll tell you everything you need to know about me.
