Adopt a pet (Sept. 5)
Winnie and her three brothers and sisters, 5-month-old mixed-breed puppies, are available for adoption from Pals Animal Rescue. They will be at Petco in Derby from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The puppies have been spayed/neutered and are ready for their new homes. They are delightful little pups and bundles of love. Other Pals dogs will also be at the Derby Petco.
Gracie, an 8-year-old cocker spaniel, will be shown at PetSmart, 3615 N. Rock Road, from 1 to 2:30 Saturday. She is a beautiful cocker and such a sweet dog. She is house-trained and looking for a family that understands cocker spaniels. Ten other Pals dogs will also be shown at that time and place.
For more information, visit Pals’ Facebook page or call 316-990-3647.
Hellen, a 2-year-old female pit bull mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.
I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of girl just looking for someone to love. The nice people at the Kansas Humane Society took me in after my former family’s landlord kicked me out and said “no dogs allowed.” I’m perfectly house-trained and friendly to everyone I meet. The staff here want me to find a home so badly, they’ve lowered my adoption fee from $150 to just $50. So stop by the shelter today and let me show you what unconditional love looks like.
Also available at KHS:
▪ Vinny, 2-year-old male Labrador retriever mix
I’m a good-natured fella whose main goal in life is to keep you smiling. I can be a bit of a clown sometimes, but it’s only because I like to make people laugh. Once the joke is over I’d love to cuddle up on the couch with you. I’m as loyal as they come. Do you have room in your heart for me?
▪ Bessie, 2-year-old female pit bull mix
I’m a spunky girl looking for a best buddy to take on the world with. The nice staff here at the shelter call me the “life of the party.” That’s probably because I’m so much fun. I love to go for walks, catch Frisbees, squeeze my squeaky toy and play fetch. I’ll bring my tennis ball to you and we can play fetch if you want. All you have to do is stop by the Kansas Humane Society; I’ll take it from there.
▪ Thalia, 7-year-old female cat, domestic medium-hair mix
I’ve got a fun and confident personality. I do everything in a big way. I like to be noticed, and when you’re as cute and spunky as I am, there’s nothing wrong with that. I’m adventurous, but have no fear: I’ll make plenty of time for affection and purrs. I like to think I’m running the show down here at the Kansas Humane Society. My cat friends and I are having a blast, but I really would love to go home soon.
▪ Velvet, 3-month-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
I’m a young kitten looking for a family as sweet as I am. I’m only 3 months old so I’ve got a lot of growing and learning to do, but learning is so much more fun when you have a friend to do it with. I’ve made friends with my foster mom’s cats and dogs. Now I just need a human friend that can take me home and love me forever.
