Two dog washes set for Saturday in Augusta and Bel Aire will raise money for local animal-related causes.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tractor Supply Co., 10025 SW Diamond Road in Augusta, volunteers will wash and towel-dry dogs for $10 per pet.

Money raised will go to the Butler County Animal Response Team, a nonprofit group that responds to the needs of companion animals in natural and man-made disasters. Proceeds will help the team purchase equipment and supplies. For more information, call 316-323-7190 or 316-322-4378.

From 1 to 4 p.m. outside Heartland Animal Hospital, 4100 N. Woodlawn in Bel Aire, volunteers from Responsible and Ethical Treatment of Animals in Neighborhoods will bathe, rinse and towel off dogs for $5.

Proceeds go to RETAIN, a local group that helps pay for spaying and neutering surgeries for pets whose owners can’t afford them. The RETAIN summer dog wash will operate every Saturday through Sept. 5, weather permitting.
