Adopt a pet (July 11)
James the Busy Bee, an 8-year-old male shepherd mix, 48 pounds, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.
A dog’s work is never done. I am just busy all the time: bones to chew, meals to eat, balls to be chased, owners to walk and cars to ride in. There’s so much fun to be had! Life is great; the only thing I need now is an owner to love and take care of me. That’s where YOU come in. I’m waiting for you here at KHS.
Also available:
▪ Lena, 1-year-old female German shepherd-Labrador retriever mix, 56 pounds
Aloha, fantastic people! My name is Lena, and I’m an energetic 1-year-old girl. I’m a little shy in the beginning, and it may take some time to warm completely up to you, but my love and loyalty will be worth the patience. I’d love to be your dog, so let’s make it happen. I’m currently in foster care, so call the shelter at 316-524-9196 to learn how to visit me.
▪ Callie the Executive, 6-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
Looking for top-of-the-line company? Well then, I think I’m the lady for you. When it comes to companionship, you can’t go wrong with a love like mine. I’ll be your loyal friend for life. I can’t wait to see you in person; it’s always been my dream to meet someone like you.
▪ Poppin the Personal Assistant, 2-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix
I’ve got a great resume for such a young cat. I have lived with several children, and also other furry pets. I am house trained, and I have lived with seniors too. I enjoy life and get along really well with anybody. I definitely think I’d make a great assistant to you in your home. Come visit and you are sure to agree.
▪ Darby, 2-month-old male kitten, domestic shorthair mix
Zoom. Zoom. I bet you didn’t see me run from the couch to the lamp and back. That’s because I’m quick, like a stealth panther! Be aware, I may leap into your heart at the speed of light. I hope that sounds amazing to you, because it does to me. Well, it was nice chatting with you. I’ll see you here at KHS soon, right?
