Pet Independence Day, $17.76 adoptions July 4 at Kansas Humane Society

The Kansas Humane Society is holding a Pet Independence Day celebration on July 4 that includes special adoption prices.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, adoption fees will be $17.76 for all dogs 6 months and older and kittens 9 months and younger. Adult cats are free.

The special price includes the pet’s spay or neuter surgery, vaccinations, a microchip, flea and tick treatment and a bag of food.

▪ Cinnamon the Constant Companion, 9-year-old female German shorthaired pointer mix

Maharet here, a very loving and sweet kitty looking for a quiet home to cozy up in. I love attention and being petted, but I’d prefer not to be held or picked up.
