About 10,000 people and their dogs are expected to attend Woofstock on Saturday, the annual party in the park that raises money for the Kansas Humane Society.

Woofstock will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Sedgwick County Park.

A Woofstock Walk will kick off the event at 10 a.m. Activities include Ruff Races, Doggie Musical Chairs, a best dressed costume contest and the Paws and Play Kids Zone. There will also be live music, a silent auction, food vendors and a shopping district.

Admission is $5, or free for people who raise $25 or more in donations. Kids age 12 and under get in free.

All proceeds go to the Kansas Humane Society.

Dogs must be at least 5 months old and current on all vaccinations to attend. A maximum of two dogs per person is allowed. Dogs must be sociable with people and other dogs, on a leash – no retractable leashes, please – and under control at all times.

For more information, go to www.kshumane.org/woofstock or call 316-524-9196. Also see the Woofstock special section in Friday’s Eagle.
