Sunflower Cluster dog show at Kansas Pavilions

Dogs will be taking part in activities such as conformation, obedience, agility, lure coursing, herding, hunting and AKC Canine Good Citizen testing this weekend as the all-breed Sunflower Cluster of Dog Shows comes to the Kansas Pavilions.

More than 1,500 dogs representing about 130 breeds will be at the show, which started Thursday and runs through Monday. Some events will only be taking place Saturday and/or Sunday.

Hours for the show are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday. Admission is free.

The show will also feature vendors, a junior handler competition and Art Show at the Dog Show, a national juried exhibition of canine-related art.

The Kansas Pavilions are at 85th Street North and I-135 in Park City.

‘Great Catsby’ fundraiser to benefit Cowley County Humane Society

The Cowley County Humane Society will celebrate the Roaring ’20s on April 12 at the “Great Catsby” tasting and benefit auction.

The event will be at Baden Square Community Center, 700 Gary St. in Winfield. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 and include 10 courses of wine, beer, punch, water and finger foods. Silent and live auctions, as well as a raffle, will help raise money for the shelter.
