‘Meet the Breeds,’ view canine art Sunday at Century II

Learn more about dogs and get up close and personal with more than a dozen breeds as the Wichita Kennel Club holds a “Meet the Breeds” event Sunday at Century II.

The fifth annual event is free and open to the public and will run from noon to 4 p.m. in the Concert Hall foyer.

The event is a chance for people to ask owners and breeders questions about their dogs and find just the right breed for their lifestyle, said Mike Williams of the Wichita Kennel Club.

Breeds expected to be at the event include golden retrievers, border collies, standard and miniature poodles, Chinese shar-peis, Bedlington terriers, dalmatians, miniature pinschers, Cavalier King Charles spaniels, Labrador retrievers, silky terriers, Welsh Corgis, Berger Picards and Australian shepherds.

Entries from Art Show at the Dog Show, a national juried fine arts exhibit dedicated to canines, will be on display during the event.

Sales of chocolate rabbits to aid Bunny TNT

Bunny TNT, a local club for people who own and love bunnies, has joined with two Wichita chocolate-makers to get out the message that live bunnies do not make good Easter pets for children.

In connection with the national Make Mine Chocolate campaign, Cero’s Candies and Cocoa Dolce Artisan Chocolates will offer special bunny-themed candy through Easter, April 5. Proceeds from the sale of this candy will go to help with Bunny TNT’s rabbit rescue and educational efforts.

Cero’s, at 3429 E. Douglas, will sell chocolate bunnies for $2.50, and Cocoa Dolce, 2132 N. Rock Road, Suite 100, will offer fancy bunny candy in milk or dark chocolate for $3.50.

For more information, call 316-683-1122.
