Here’s how to get a free HIV test on World AIDS Day in Sedgwick County
You can receive a free HIV test from the Sedgwick County Division of Health for World AIDS Day this coming Friday.
“World AIDS Day provides an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV, and memorialize those who have died,” a release states.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that anyone who is sexually active, shares needles or who has been in contact with blood should be tested, the release states. The test can detect HIV as well as all other sexually transmitted infections.
The free conventional HIV testing will take place on Dec. 1 at 2716 W. Central. Testing will be available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but not over the noon hour.

Last year, 3,147 people in Kansas and 801 people in Sedgwick County were living with HIV.
