Free health clinic for Asian Wellness Day

Adults and children are invited to a health fair for Asian Wellness Day Oct. 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Office, 7001 W. 21st St.

This is the 16th annual Asian Wellness Day, which is geared toward serving medically underserved and Asian populations, but is open to everyone in the Wichita area.

The health fair includes free flu shots, blood lead tests, blood pressure tests, body fat analysis, bone density tests, dental and vision exams, HIV tests, and colorectal cancer screenings for adults older than 50 years old.

Uninsured women between the ages of 40 and 64 can schedule free clinical breast exams and mammograms by calling Audrey Nguyen, 316-337-6047.

For $5, attendees can receive cholesterol and glucose tests until noon. Individuals need to fast 12 hours before the test.
