As peach-picking picks up, Monroe Coffee Roasters will have a pop-up location at Meadowlark Farm in Rose Hill on Saturday, serving a new drink combining coffee and juice from the farm’s peaches.

Hot and iced pour-over coffee also will be available from Monroe while people can pick their own peaches from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the farm at 11249 SW 160th St.

Monroe is calling the peach-coffee drink “The Meadowlark” in honor of the farm and hopes it will inspire others to get creative with fresh peaches.

“The idea is similar to signature drinks that you’d see in barista competitions and that are becoming more popular in shops too – essentially a coffee ‘cocktail’ sans alcohol that complements the coffee’s natural flavors (instead of masking them like a lot of traditional coffee drinks do),” Amanda Spell of Monroe said in an e-mail Friday.

“We pair our iced Ethiopian Adado coffee with juice that we make with the farm’s Red Haven peaches and round it out with fresh garden mint, a bit of lime, and a few drops of bitters to create a refreshing summer drink. Since our Adado has an incredible natural peachy sweetness, the drink really pulls together nicely.”
