Tell us about the vacation that went wrong

Tribune News Service

At the height of summer vacation season, a new installment in the “National Lampoon Vacation” movie series will be released on July 29, titled simply “Vacation.” In this comedy, Clark Griswold’s son, Rusty, surprises his wife and two sons with a cross-country trip to the family-fun park Wally World before it closes for good.

It poses the perennial Lampoon question: “What could go wrong?” Even apart from the movies, it seems that a vacation is not a vacation without some trouble or other. Have you had a vacation that was memorable for what – in hindsight – went comically wrong? Tell us about it in 250 words or less. Send to acalovich@wichitaeagle.com by 5 p.m. July 20. Put “vacation” in the subject line and include your name, phone number and town of residence. Some responses may be used in a future story.
