Saint Francis Community Services offers foster parenting courses
Saint Francis Community Services is offering two 10-week courses on foster parenting. The free courses start June 24. Designed to help people make informed decisions about assisting children in foster care or adoption programs, the courses also provide training required by the state of Kansas for potential foster parents.
Nearly 250 Sedgwick County children must stay in homes outside the county because there are not enough local foster families to accommodate them, according to a news release.
To register for the course or learn about becoming a foster parent, go to www.fostercare-ks.org or call 866-999-1599.
